Determining the Ideal Breast Size in Two Ways

There are different ways to help you determine the ideal breast size for you, and below are two effective ways that many women use. Bear in mind, though, that this guide does not take the place of an in-depth consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. • Breast size in CC instead of bra cup

Bra manufacturers don’t have a standard form of measurement, which explains why cup size labels are different from one brand to another. For instance, a Victoria’s Secret C cup bra may be a B cup to a Playtex or Triumph bra. For this reason, plastic surgeons measure breast volume in cubic centimeters (cc) instead of cups.

Although this is not based on scientific research, most plastic surgeons equate one cup to 150cc to 200cc of breast size. If you want to increase your size from an A cup to B cup, you’ll need a 200cc implant size. If you want to enlarge your breast size from a full B cup to a D cup, you’ll need at least 300cc to 400cc of implant size.

• The Rice Test

Using this will allow you to test the weight of the cc volume you have in mind. To use this test, fill two sandwich bags with rice and insert them into your desired bra size. Be sure to wear a non-padded bra to get the exact measurement. Once you have enough rice to give you the size you want, empty each bag into a measuring cup and record the volume. You can then convert the cup to cc to get an estimate. Here’s a chart to guide you:
