CO2 Laser Recovery

You can anticipate one to two weeks of recovery after your CO2 laser procedure. Over the first few days, patients often describe feeling like their skin is sunburned. As healing progresses, the skin will develop a crust, which will start to peel away after about five to seven days.

The new layer of skin that is revealed after the treated outer layer is gone will be especially vulnerable to damage from sunlight and harsh topical products. Be sure to follow Dr. Sato’s aftercare instructions regarding the use of appropriate cleansing and moisturizing products and avoiding sun exposure.
