At 57, Madonna is still known for her gorgeous body, and one of her best features is her arms. Tight and toned, Madonna’s arms would look great on any woman, whether she is 30 or 60. Let’s not let the Material Girl have all the fun! With an arm lift, you can have amazing arms, too—even if you weren’t naturally blessed with them.

What Is an Arm Lift?

An arm lift, also called brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms to create a tighter, more toned appearance. It is the lasting solution to loose, jiggly, or flabby arms as well as the dreaded bingo wings. If your arms make you look older than you are, come see Dr. Sato for a rejuvenating arm lift.

Arm lifts aren’t just for rejuvenation, however. Dr. Sato also performs the procedure on patients after massive weight loss, including post-bariatric surgery patients. If you have loose skin after weight loss, an arm lift can restore a tighter appearance. Liposuction is often performed during the procedure to remove any excess fat that remains in the arm area.

How Can an Arm Lift Improve My Appearance?

Take a quick look at your arms. Do they wiggle and jiggle when you move? Or are they tight and toned? An arm lift can improve the appearance of your arms by removing excess skin and fat and tightening up the area. This results in a more toned, youthful appearance. If you opt for long sleeves even when you’d rather wear a tank top, an arm lift could help to restore your confidence in your arms.

What’s Arm Lift Surgery Like?

If you’re thinking about an arm lift, one of the best ways to learn about the procedure is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Sato. She can provide you with specifics about the surgery, including expected recovery times, your anticipated results, the amount of time surgery will take, etc. These details can vary greatly depending on your specifics.

If performed on its own, an arm lift is often done under local anesthetic with IV sedation. General anesthesia may be used, especially if an arm lift is paired with other procedures. During the procedure, liposuction is performed to remove any excess fat. Then an incision is made along the inside of the upper arm. Excess skin is removed and the area is sutured closed.

After surgery, you’ll need to wear compression sleeves while you heal. Most patients take 1-2 weeks off from work. Avoid strenuous activities until you have the go-ahead from Dr. Sato, which is usually around 4-6 weeks.
